چکیده

The valorisation of agricultural residues into a high value-added product is necessary to respond the global environmental concerns caused by pollution waste. objective this study was shed light on new usage cocoa pod husk (CPH) for synthesis cellulose triacetate (CTA). Alkaline treatment with sodium hydroxide (5 wt%) followed bleaching process (2 hydrogen peroxide found effective extraction from CPH. percentage obtained 80.5% yield 54%. CTA synthesised explore way acetylation reaction in presence acetic acid, anhydride, and sulphuric acid. had degree substitution 2.87 acetylated group 43.8%, as determined titration. result Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy showed appearance stretching ester acetyl groups, indicating formation CTA. X-ray diffraction that crystallinity index CPH 38.4%, while semi-crystalline nature produced. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed change morphology after acetylation. energy dispersive analysis mainly composed carbon oxygen.

Preparation and Characterization of Cellulose Triacetate as Support for Lecitase Ultra Immobilization.

The use of polymers as supports for enzyme immobilization is a strategy that enables to remove the enzymes from a chemical reaction and improve their efficiency in catalytic processes. In this work, cellulose triacetate (CTA) was used for physical adsorption of phospholipase Lecitase ultra (LU). CTA is more hydrophobic than cellulose, shows good performance in the lipases immobilization being a...

Extraction and Characterization of Gelling and Emulsifying Pectin Fractions from Cacao Pod Husk

With an annual production around 1.6 million tons, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) is still today the world’s largest producer of cocoa beans. This co-generates about 16 million tons of cacao pod husks which are usually left unutilized in plantations to rot, thereby becoming a significant source of disease inoculums. As a way of solving the environmental problem posed by this agrowaste and adding v...
